But unless you are a professional photographer, getting those amazing photos can be difficult and time consuming. Especially if you haven’t even finalized your product/service yet.
There are so many websites out there that provide some amazing photography to use on your website for commercial-use but those are usually very expensive. I once paid $100 for one image I wanted to a T-Shirt company, only to get tired of it and find a better one just a few weeks later.
Not only can the images from sites like shutterstock.com & istockphoto.com get real expensive for just a few images, you are less likely to swap them out if you spend tons of time or money getting them onto your site. That’s why I believe the best option (when first starting out) is free stock photography.
Just a few years ago the options for free stock photography were…s**t to put it bluntly. Luckily though, the free options have gotten a million times better and can even compete with the paid versions in some occassions.
Using high quality free stock photography allows you to create a more professional looking website while still having the option to test different looks.
